FlourDesk isn't just a storefront and an order manager. It's built to run the business side of a cottage bakery too. The Utilities add-on is where the tools that save you real time and real money will live. It isn't open yet, and it isn't part of what you pay today — when it opens we'll say what it costs before anyone is charged for it.

Most bakers price by feel, or by copying what someone else charges, and quietly lose money on their most popular items without ever knowing it. The Cottage Cost Calculator fixes that. You enter a recipe, it works out what a batch actually costs you once ingredients, your time, and overhead are counted, and it tells you what to charge to hit the margin you want. No more guessing whether a dozen cookies at your price is making you money or costing you money.

Because it lives inside FlourDesk, it connects to the products you already sell, so the pricing you figure out is the pricing your customers see. That's the part a standalone spreadsheet or a separate app can't do.

More utilities on the way

The cost calculator is the first. It's the tool bakers ask for most, so it's where we started. More business tools are planned for the Utilities add-on, so it will grow more useful over time as new tools are released.

Pricing questions

The details

Is there a contract?

No. It's month to month — cancel whenever from your account, and your shop stays up until the end of the period you've already paid for. Cancelling stops future renewals; it isn't a refund of the month you're in.

Do you take a percentage of my sales?

No. Your customers pay you directly and FlourDesk never sits in the middle of that transaction, so there's nothing for us to take a cut of. The $10 a month is the whole cost of the software.

Whatever payment method you connect may have its own processing fees. Those are between you and that provider.

Can I add Utilities later?

When it opens, yes — it's an add-on rather than a different plan, so turning it on won't change your storefront or your drops. Nothing about it is chargeable today.

Do you refund part of a month?

No. Subscription fees aren't refundable, including for partial billing periods or time you didn't use. You can cancel any time to stop the next renewal, and you keep what you've paid for until it runs out.

Is there a free trial?

Yes — 14 days. You set your shop up and run it properly before you're charged anything. We ask for a payment method up front so the shop keeps running the day the trial ends, and you can cancel before then without paying.
